Getting to Know Me: Questions About My Writing!
A Tag Post!
I was nominated by
to do the “Questions About My Writing” tag! Thank you so much again for thinking of me to do this.Sorry it took me this long Deanne…but I didn’t forget!
To those of you reading, make sure to check out Deanne’s version of the tag here.
Without further ado, here are my responses:
What would you say is the most personal piece you’ve written and why?
This one’s a little tough because much of my writing is personal. I think I have to go with my very first Post called “5 Things That Stopped Me From Blogging.”
What is your favourite personality trait about yourself, and how is that reflected in your writing?
I would say being transparent. I often share reflections and life lessons that I’ve learned along the way. We learn, grow, and connect by sharing our stories with each other. It also helps us to feel less alone. If someone walks away feeling seen, or encouraged from my writings, then I’m glad.
What is your favourite piece you’ve written, and why?
I’m not gonna lie. This question is one of the BIGGEST reasons I stalled on doing this tag! I wanted to put a good answer here. My favorite piece so far is my poem “Beautiful Dirt” (which is on Substack!). It’s my favorite because it’s a strong reminder of how God is so intentional with all of us. He transforms what the world deems as “filth” into something beautiful. I didn’t plan on this being a poem….but God told me that’s how He wanted it presented.
What is the last thing (poem, book, article) that you read and felt truly seen
Okay…this isn’t a fair question. I mean, come on! I’ve seen a lot of writings where I felt seen. But if I must pick one….it’s this.
What motivates you to write?
I have 3 responses to this:
–My passion to inspire and encourage others
–My desire to utilize to the gift God has blessed me with
–To find release (because writing is healing!)
I realized my passion for writing at an early age. What first started as me writing stories soon evolved into a desire to share words that let others know they’re not alone. It’s okay to stand out and be different in a good way. To help them understand they’re not defined by what others say about them. The list goes on and on.
This is what gives me the nudge to keep going when it gets hard. This is not to say I don’t have my days where I’m struggling. But I always try to remind myself of my “why.” God gave me this gift for a reason and I plan on using it. I will continue to be obedient and He will get the glory!

wow, your why is really strong and i love it!!
Sometime between today and tomorrow, I will read your “5 Things That Stopped Me From Blogging.” This was amazing to read and learn more from you.
Writing is a gift that you utilize tremulously, and by the way you engage with others on here, you have a lot to offer.
